Our client, a globally respected technical professional service provider, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their team in London. As a leader in classification, compliance, and consultancy services, they are shaping the future of the marine and offshore industry through innovative solutions and a commitment to the highest levels of safety and performance.

Position Overview

In this pivotal role, you will manage a diverse portfolio of complex projects ranging from £500k to £2 million.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will guide stakeholders through the project life-cycle, ensuring controlled starts, effective governance, and successful delivery.

Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in driving process improvements, aligning stakeholders, and navigating the challenges of a low-maturity environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from discovery phase through delivery, building robust business cases and ensuring controlled starts

  • Guide technical, operational and business stakeholders of varying levels, through the project life-cycle, promoting an understanding of project processes and governance

  • Employ change management skills to align diverse stakeholder groups and drive consensus on project direction

  • Provide gentle but firm guidance to senior stakeholders, emphasising the importance of project management best practices

  • Develop robust business cases after carrying out initial discovery phases

  • Implement governance and structure in a principle based manner across varying projects accordingly

  • Foster consistency by implementing the five-stage project life-cycle

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a Senior Project Manager, with a track record of managing complex projects in the £500k to £2 million range

  • APM certification (Prince or PMI also acceptable); and Agile conversant

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and high emotional intelligence

  • Ability to thrive in a low-maturity environment and drive change through gentle guidance and persuasion

  • Experience of working across varied projects (technical and non-technical) showing versatility and adaptability

  • Proficiency in the full project life-cycle, from discovery and business case development through to delivery.

  • Change management (practitioner certification as a bonus)

  • Implementing structure and governance in ambiguous environments.
