Our client, a prominent UK law firm, is seeking a passionate Sustainable Procurement Advisor to drive their sustainability initiatives within their procurement function. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact and contribute to the firm's goal of reaching net zero GHG emissions by FY2040.

Position Overview

As the Sustainable Procurement Advisor, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the Sustainable Supply Chain programme within Procurement. You will take the initiative to identify and manage environmental and social impacts, collect meaningful data, and enable sustainable decision-making across the firm's supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the Sustainable Supply Chain programme within Procurement

  • Collect and use meaningful data from the supply chain to enable sustainable decision-making and efficient disclosure

  • Improve supplier and internal stakeholder sustainability knowledge through training, best practice guidance, and knowledge sharing

  • Create and implement policies and procedures for sustainable procurement governance

  • Integrate sustainability into procurement processes, including contract management and supplier performance management

  • Ensure tenders include sustainability as a key element and evaluate sustainability consistently in the tender process

  • Coordinate and deliver collaborative projects and engagement programmes with key suppliers

  • Drive integration of sustainability in procurement and supplier strategy development and execution

  • Build internal relationships to foster buy-in to Responsible Business strategies and initiatives

  • Contribute to regular communications promoting initiatives and updating colleagues on Sustainable Procurement best practices

Requirements

  • Passion for Sustainability and ability to engage stakeholders to drive change

  • Experience delivering complex change within Procurement or Sustainability

  • MCIPs or IEMA certification

  • Proactive and self-starting approach

  • Strong analytical skills for handling complex data sets

  • Excellent teamwork, attention to detail, and organisational abilities

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
